Our Holistic Approach
At Mogra Rescue Centre, we believe in addressing the
complete needs of every child—from immediate safety
to future independence. Our comprehensive programs
create a pathway from crisis to empowerment.
The Journey: From Crisis to Independence
Arrival & Stabilisation
When a child arrives at Mogra, our focus is immediate protection, ensuring basic needs are met, medical care, and the slow beginning of trust. Providing a sense of safety and stabilisation is necessary.
Stabilization
With consistent care, nutrition, and a safe environment, children begin to heal.
Growth
Through education, healthcare, and supportive relationships, children develop their unique potential.
Empowerment
Older youth gain skills, confidence, and vision for their future through educational and vocational opportunities.
Independence
Graduates leave Mogra as self-sufficient adults ready to contribute to their communities.
Our Programs
Mogra Rescue Centre
640 children currently call Mogra home. They include children escaping abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Children found abandoned or living on the streets. Children who have lost their parents and have no safe family to care for them. Children whose cases are guided by courts and child protection services. They range in age from a few months old to young adults preparing to step into independence.
Mogra Star Academy
1,300 students attend our school — including the 250 children who live at Mogra, and over 1,000 students from Mathare, many from families facing significant hardship. For all of them, the school is not just a place of learning. It is a place of safety, community, and possibility.
