Reverend Hannah Wairimu
Rev. Hannah Wairimu is the founder of Mogra Star Academy and Mogra Rescue Centre. She was motivated to help the less fortunate in the society due to the fact that she comes from a very humble background. From this humble background, she understands the challenges one faces and opportunities one misses out on due to lack of enough resources in life. Rev. Hannah did not get an education due to poverty. This is a driving force in her belief that every child needs basic care and an education to prosper in life. She is a great believer in prayers and trusting in God to make everything happen together for good. She instills this into all the children who pass through Mogra. As the pillar of Mogra and a mother to very many children, she prays and works hard. Reverend Hannah focuses on daily fund raising activities to ensure all programs in Mogra are funded and running. She loves children and does not want to see any child suffering. She encourages the children to work hard by giving them an example of herself. She strives to have the children understand that despite coming from poor backgrounds, she beat all the odds and prospered to establish successful businesses in Nairobi along with her husband. Rev. Hannah is married to Mr. David N Wambia. Together, they and are blessed with four children and many grandchildren. Her husband, a renowned businessman and former Nairobi Councillor, has been a huge supporter of her work. Rev. Hannah ministers at Faith Believers Gospel Ministry located in Ruaraka, Mathare North Area 1. She also partly helps her husband in running their family businesses which they established many years ago. She manages both the school as well as the children’s home together with a team of dedicated staff. Rev Hannah and her team work tirelessly for the children knowing that greatness lies in every one of them.
